I have always been a big lover of lush, but it can get expensive. Last time we popped into a Lush store my kids feel in love with their fun shower jellies. They had to wash their hands with every scent… So I did some research, and made some DIY shower jelly instead.
I am always looking for ways to get my kids to do things they do not want to.

Brushing their Teeth
Which this toothbrush HERE really helps with.
I mean come on how cute is this little guy? You can also get it in the shape of a giraffe, a bear, and even a pony.
Putting on Sunscreen
My kids really love the spray kind like THIS natural sunscreen by Hang Ten.
The fact that they are willing to spray it on themselves, and is natural and organic makes it a 10 in my books too.
Taking their Vitamins
These ones HERE have a great texture, are sugar free, and gluten free as
These are the only vitamins that my kids will willingly take. They also have THESE great Vitamin C gummies which keep my kids healthy during flu season.
But anyways I digress. What you are really here for is the
DIY shower jelly inspired by LUSH
It is so easy to make your own jellies that everyone in your family especially the little’s will enjoy using. It takes only a few simple ingredients all of which you may already have laying around your house!
- 3/4 Cup Boiling Water
- 1 Packet Unflavored Gelatine
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3/4 Cup Shower Gel ( or Shampoo, Castille Soap, Hand Soap)
- Ice Cube Trays ( you can also use small Tupperware containers, or soap molds)
- Heat Proof Mixing bowl
- Optional: Soap dye, essential oil, body safe glitter
- Optional: Spray bottle with alcohol in it
In a small bowl pour in boiling water then slowly sprinkle in 1 packet of unflavored gelatin powder, and stir to combine.
Add the salt and mix.
Stir in your soap.
If you are using any dye, essential oil, or body safe glitter now is the time to stir it in.
Make sure you stir stir stir.
You want it all mixed up and the gelatin completely dissolved.
Pour the mixture into your chosen mold.
I like to use regular old ice cube trays. They are the perfect size for one use, makes it easy to give to the children and know nothing is wasted, and this recipe fills a regular ice cube tray perfectly!!
Of course you can use any type of mold you would like to such as a fun silicone mold, or soap mold.
To Make you Jelly Super Smooth Spray it Down with Alcohol
This step is optional, but it will give you a smoother finished product.
Place the Tray is the Fridge, and let the mixture set.
Once the jelly is set it should pop out of your mold easily.
